We’ve been quiet, but only because we’ve been deep in the work—pulling a story from the page and shaping it, moment by moment, into something real.

God Knows Best is our first production, and if we’ve learned anything, it’s this: a story only holds weight if every character knows why they are there. That why is the golden thread—it moves the frame forward with purpose, ties moments together with meaning, and reminds us that the prize isn’t just in the ending. Each scene, each breath, each decision is the prize.

At the heart of this one is Simisola, played by @winiefon —a woman who takes the wheel of her late husband’s bus, steering her grief the only way she knows how: forward.

Almost a week ago, a room full of writers sat with their characters—some fully formed, others just a spark. We questioned, pushed, and peeled back the layers, finding the heart of their stories. Moments of discovery, bursts of laughter, quiet nods when something finally clicked. Watching these characters take shape in real time was nothing short of magic. We’d do it all over again in a heartbeat 💕

Tomorrow, we’re putting characters through it. Who are they when the stakes are high? When they’re backed into a corner? When their crush leaves them on read and their rent is due? 👀

With @jolaayeye @justkaelo and @nicoleasinugo at the helm, we’re sharpening arcs, raising hell, and making sure these characters earn their place on the page. It’s going to be intense. It’s going to be hilarious. And it might just get way too real (5th slide speaks for itself 😭).

Three months of dedication, persistence, and (hope

Three months of dedication, persistence, and (hopefully) just a few tears later, our first cohort has completed the third draft of Saving Ronke, an original feature film.

Writers @p_r_a_i_z, @victoreyike, and @aminatyusuf_ poured their curiosity, sharp thinking, and undeniable energy into the process, shaping a script that became richer, bolder, and more alive with every draft. Good writing isn’t a stroke of luck—it’s the result of showing up, digging in, and doing the hard work. These three are living proof of that.

A special thank you to @theosaokunbofoundation, whose grant provided what every writer needs most: the time and space to create. And to the friends who showed up with open hearts and selfless support — your guidance helped light the way. This script carries a piece of all of you.

They say you can’t be a great writer if you’re not a great reader. And honestly? They’re right.

When it comes to screenwriting, we had to admit it to ourselves—we don’t read enough scripts. Not because we don’t want to, but let’s be real… reading scripts alone can feel tedious, even a little boring sometimes.

So we thought, what if we made it fun? What if we read together?

That’s how Script Club was born. Think book club, but for scripts. Each month, we’ll pick a script, read it, then meet up to discuss structure, characters, and everything in between.
